Information about the Music house

The Music House is located in the heart of Jakobstad. In conjunction with the University of Applied Sciences,
the Swedish Vocational Institute and the Music Institute of Jakobstad it forms a common center of music learning
for Swedish-speaking Finns.

Jakobstad boasts a wealth of musical tradition and activity in rhythm, folk, choral and church music. Throughout
the year a wide selection of concerts and other cultural events are offered to the general public.

The Music House plays a key role in the local region. Enjoying active support from all parts of Swedish-speaking
Finland it offers the student a host of opportunities through collective projects, with established musicians,
orchestras and various branches within the teaching profession.

A highly qualified and experienced teaching staff pass on their music knowledge to give students a broad, solid
base for meeting the demands and challenges they will face in their line of music.
